Article: VILLAGE HALL DEBATE BECOMES CAMPAIGN ISSUE

The Village Board seemed to jump to a conclusion that Lisle needs a new Village Hall, two candidates for the Village Board said this week after the Village Board began on Monday to discuss the future of the 75-year-old building. "It's interesting how the need for air conditioning is blossoming into a Village Hall," candidate John E. Mueller said.

"A whole lot of issues still must be explored."

"It's crazy logic," candidate Jerrold J. Dellacqua concurred.

The board on Monday began to consider what repairs to make to the Village Hall. The building at 1040 Burlington Ave. was built in the 1920s as a school.

It was renovated and became the Village Hall in 1979.
