Article: AUDITORS CAN'T COMPLETE DUPAGE TWP. BANQUET HALL AUDIT

Inadequate records make it impossible to determine how much money may have been made or lost at the DuPage Township banquet hall, according to the firm which audited the facility. After three months and a bill for $18,750 to DuPage Township, Arthur Andersen and Company has thrown in the towel on trying to audit the DuPage Township banquet hall records.

According to a report released late last week and dated Thursday, Feb. 13, Arthur Andersen was "unable to conduct an audit of the statement of revenues and direct costs of the Banquet Facilities of DuPage Township for the twelve months ended Dec. 31, 1996 ... because of the significance of the material weaknesses in accounting control." ...
