Playwright James Sherman first penned The God of Isaac in 1985, when it ran for months at the Victory Gardens Theater.
It's back in a revival and, while never reaching the wit and polish of the author's long-running hits Beau Jest and Jest A Second, The God of Isaac is a humorous reflection of a young man's struggle to come to grips with Jewish heritage.
