Article: YOUTH SOCCER: GOLDEN EAGLES FINISH UNBEATEN RUN TO SUBDIVISION TITLE

When Michael Salkeld converted a penalty kick early in last Saturday's Subdivision Soccer championship game, his Golden Eagles teammates had to like their chances of winning it all. After all, the Golden Eagles entered the second grade title game against the Terminators with a 7-0-1 record and zero goals allowed.

So it was no surprise that Salkeld's score proved to be more than enough to bring the Golden Eagles the title.

Even so, Pat Cummings scored late in the half for an insurance goal as his team went on to win 2-0 on Super Saturday at Steeple Run School.

The Golden Eagles were one of six teams to claim Subdivision Soccer championships on Super Saturday.
