Article: DUPAGE TWP. RAISES RENTAL RATES AT LEVY CENTER BANQUET HALL

DuPage Township Supervisor Bob Schanks' proposal to raise the rental fee of the Levy Center Banquet facility was approved by the board of trustees at their Tuesday night meeting. The measure was approved much to the chagrin of some of the trustees.

The measure will raise the current rate for private rentals from $300 for five hours to $100 per hour and $100 for each hour past midnight,

"I am trying to put us into a position where we can make a profit," Schanks told the board.

"As the rates are now, we are giving the thing away."

Trustee Lin Schroth was not the least bit pleased with Schanks' proposal.

"To charge people by the hour bothers me," Schroth said.
