Article: LAKE WATER PLAN AWAITS ICC RECOMMENDATION

The Illinois Commerce Commission has yet to approve Citizens Utilities' plan to bring Lake Michigan water to Bolingbrook, but progress is being made, said Mike Drey, director of Public Works/Engineering. ICC hearing officers are in the process of reviewing Citizens' petition to deliver lake water and are close to making a recommendation to the ICC board, said Beth Bosch, ICC spokesman.

A recommendation is expected after Aug. 1, the deadline for final briefs to be submitted by Bolingbrook officials and ICC staff members.

"We're getting down to a proposed order in the case; a recommendation to commissioners on what should be done," Bosch said.
