The Illinois Commerce Commission has yet to approve Citizens Utilities' plan to bring Lake Michigan water to Bolingbrook, but progress is being made, said Mike Drey, director of Public Works/Engineering.
ICC hearing officers are in the process of reviewing Citizens' petition to deliver lake water and are close to making a recommendation to the ICC board, said Beth Bosch, ICC spokesman.
A recommendation is expected after Aug. 1, the deadline for final briefs to be submitted by Bolingbrook officials and ICC staff members.
"We're getting down to a proposed order in the case; a recommendation to commissioners on what should be done," Bosch said.
