Q: How serious is heart disease among women? A: Heart disease is the most common cause of death in American women.
Each year approximately 263,000 women die of a heart attack and 87,000 die of a stroke.
Even though it occurs more frequently, heart disease does not seem to attract the same kind of attention as say breast or cervical cancer. Q: Are some women at higher risk than others?
