Despite a great start, the Dundee-Crown girls volleyball team couldn't finish off powerful Jacobs on Oct. 7.
The Chargers jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first game against their crosstown, Fox Valley Conference rival.
But the lead didn't last.
The Golden Eagles, now 26-1 overall, won the first game 15-7 and the second game 15-8 to sweep the match.
"We came out a little lax," said Jacobs coach Don Biagioni.
"But Dundee played pretty well.
They came prepared and ready.
We had trouble getting going, but we called a timeout, tried to get together and everything kind of took off from there."
