The Morton Arboretum in Lisle will celebrate its 20th re-enactment of the colorful pageantry of bringing home the Yule Log on Saturday, Dec. 26.
Those wishing to join the search should meet at the Visitor Center at 2 p.m. The hunt begins at 2:15 p.m. Participants should come dressed for the weather and be prepared for a one- to two-mile hike.
The Yule Log was a household observance that, in medieval times, signified the banishment of the year's evil and the rekindling of the hearth fire, a symbol of home.
Admission to the Yuletide Celebration for nonmembers is $7 per car; members are admitted free.
The Arboretum is located at 4100 Route 53, at Interstate 88, in Lisle.
