Article: BARBER SHOP'S NEW LOCATION OFFERS OLD-FASHIONED SERVICE

In August 1964, Richard Lee Neurock opened Lee's Barber Shop in downtown Naperville. It was a little two-chair, old-fashioned barber shop, where patrons could come for a haircut, shave or friendly conversation.

The old shop quickly grew to three chairs in 1965, and by the early 70s, the shop's growth forced Neurock to move to a larger location.

The new Lee's opened four doors south on Washington Street, where the business grew to eight chairs by 1990.

Neurock was more than a barber to his customers -- he was a friend.

It wasn't uncommon for customers to come for a haircut in the morning and stay to watch the Cubs play on television in the afternoon.
