The talk of the size of umpires' strike zones, whether a complaint of being too small or too big, was heavy last season and this past winter in Major League Baseball.
How is the strike zone and how the rules enforcing it at the high school level of baseball perceived by those involved?
Area coaches expressed strong satisfaction with how balls and strikes are called on their level of play.
"I don't think they favor to one side (the hitter) or another (the pitcher)," said Woodstock High School coach John Theriault.
"If the pitch is close, they are going to call it a strike.
"You are dealing with pitchers that don't have the control of a major league pitcher and it keeps the games moving ...
