"The 10 millionth Model T Ford is on the road!"
That statement was first made on June 4, 1924, in a "Ford News" newsletter, but the experience was celebrated again recently during the classic automobile's diamond anniversary on a classic American roadway ... Lincoln Highway.
Dr. Al Hathaway was behind the wheel of a 1924 Model-T similar to that 10 millionth vehicle last week as he rumbled through Lincoln-Way on a cross-country tour in honor of Lincoln Highway.
Hathaway made the same San Francisco to New York trip 25 years ago on the automobile's golden anniversary.
The route also took him to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah and Nevada.
