Article: VERNON HILLS POLICE FOCUSING ON DRUNKEN-DRIVING ENFORCEMENT

The Vernon Hills Police Department has implemented a new program targeting drivers who choose to violate driving under the influence laws, and it is being supported in part by a grant from the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. On June 18, Vernon Hills police began the first part of Operation Silver Star. In this venture, which was the idea of Corporal Jon Petrillo, on some evenings there will be extra police officers patrolling whose specific purpose will be to enforce DUI violations.
