As families and friends come together this holiday season, the Vernon Hills Police Department hopes that everyone will enjoy the season in a responsible manner. However, the department also wants drivers to know that if they chose to drink and drive, they will lose, possibly in more ways than one.

"The Vernon Hills Police Department wants to get the word out that impaired driving will not be tolerated," said Commander John R. Kincaid, acting chief of police.

"If drivers make the decision to drink and drive, they had best be prepared for the consequences.
