Article: Some builder say death of the dining room not likely

With today's lifestyles scattering the family all over the map and schedule, many people question whether a formal dining room is even needed in the home any more. "Breakfast rooms are every bit as prevalent as dining rooms, and they are used virtually everyday," said Bill Gronow, an operating partner of East Dundee-based Kennedy Homes, currently building several communities in Chicago's north, west and northwest suburbs.

"But don't expect the dining room to become extinct any time soon."

Formal dining rooms, as well as living rooms, are still a part of every floor plan offered by Kennedy.
