Article: Romeoville slated for $19.5 million in road improvements over five years

ROMEOVILLE -- The village of Romeoville is in store for $19.5 million worth of road improvements over the next five years. The Romeoville Village Board authorized the issuance of $10 million in bonds Wednesday to cover road improvements throughout the village.

Mike Thyfault, finance director, said the $10 million covers projects including the reconstruction of the Interstate 55 frontage road between Weber Road and 135th Street.

"The bond should cover all the projects for the next five years," Thyfault said.

The village also received a $2 million grant from the state for the frontage road project.
