Article: Road work on County Farm may begin next month

Work on the County Farm Road underpass could begin next month and will close the heavily traveled route for four weeks starting in late August. DuPage County Board members awarded the contract for the complex road project this week, meaning groundbreaking could take place in March, according to county highway engineer Charles Tokarski.

The 21-month project, which was awarded to Harry W. Kuhn Inc. and Lorig Construction Co. for a joint venture, will cost more than $22 million and reroute traffic beneath the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
