Q. What is a sleep disorder?

A. A sleep disorder is any condition that causes a person's sleep to be unrefreshing.

Some involve difficulty falling or staying asleep.

Sleep also can be impaired by such things as snoring and other breathing problems.

Most patients with sleep disorders are sleepy during the day, even when sleeping eight or more hours each night.
