Kids' bowling has fun (and snack frame) to spare By Mike Danahey STAFF WRITER CARPENTERSVILLE -- It's the "cookies and juice" frame for the under-6 crowd at Liberty Lanes, giving 10-pin toddlers a chance to recharge their batteries.

"After five frames, they need a break to help keep their attention," said Judy Koehler.

Koehler is the coordinator of the bowling alley's youth program and has been working with it for the past 13 years.

There are 140 kids participating, at seven different skill levels.

Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., September through May, Koehler is at the lanes in the Meadowdale Shopping Center, not only overseeing the operation of the program but teaching the ...
