State Gymnastics Jacobs' Grabowski wins floor exercise Larkin's Fitchie 4th in balance beam zB1 By Merrill Sutherin SPECIAL TO THE COURIER NEWS
PALATINE -- Jacobs' Jamie Grabowski and Larkin's Beth Fitchie both medaled while St. Charles finished fourth as a team in the state gymnastics finals Saturday night at Palatine.
Grabowski, a junior participating in her first state meet, won three medals.
She picked up two medals Saturday as she won the floor exercise with a 9.725. She took third in the uneven bars with a 9.525 and was second in the all-around Friday evening.
Grabowski excelled in the floor exercise and her smile after her first run expressed everything.
