Article: Drury Inn targets Elgin site

ELGIN -- Drury Inns Inc. is the newest prospective player in the city's teeming hotel industry. The St. Louis-based company will appear before the Elgin Zoning and Subdivision Hearing Board on Oct. 21 to request an exception to the city's ordinance on the distance between a property line and parking lot.

The site is at 2400 Westfield Drive, on the southwest corner of Randall Road and the Northwest Tollway.

A potential neighbor is the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton, planned for the northeast corner of Randall and the tollway.

That development has not begun construction yet.

Tim Pruitt, a Drury civil engineer, said the hotels take about one year to build.
