ROMEOVILLE -- A tough loss to say the least.
That's how the Lewis University men's basketball team had to view Saturday afternoon's 64-63 loss to unbeaten Hillsdale (Mich.).
Brooks Miller's driving layup in heavy traffic with 5.4 seconds remaining gave Hillsdale (7-0) the non-conference win at the Neil Carey Arena.
Miller finished with 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting.
Lewis (5-3) did, however, have a chance to win the game during the closing seconds.
After Miller's go-ahead basket, Lewis junior guard Stan Strong took the inbounds pass and went the length of the court.
Cutting his way through the Chargers' defense, Strong missed a layup as time expired.
He finished with 12 points.
