Article: Officials continue debate over terra cotta for new library

Architects have designed Naperville's third library with a terra cotta exterior, but because the material is untested in North America, at least one board member has reservations about using it. Naperville Public Libraries Trustee Jeff Knuckles has been vocal in expressing his concern about the material, which has not been used in a harsh climate such as in the Midwest.

Peter Soucy from Builders Imports Inc. of Boston, attended last week's board meeting to answer questions from the board.

His company imports the terra cotta panels for Terreal, the French manufacturer of the product.
