Article: Memories grow in Waubonsie grove

Every year, as our extended family sits down to Christmas dinner, there is a moment that we raise our glasses in a toast to everyone who is present and to those who have passed on. Although it has been several years since my father passed away, I always feel an intense sadness at this moment.

The part that bothers me the most is not my loss, but his.

I imagine how proud and happy he would be to be sitting at the head of the table surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
