Nestled in the wooded, serene surroundings, The Joliet Park District's Pilcher Park Nature Center peeks out amid the trees.
If you visited the center as a child and think you know all about it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
This is not your father's nature center.
Before entering the center have the kids check out the totem pole that greets you on the front lawn.
This structure has a story that is almost as colorful as its paint.
