For anyone who missed the announcement, let it be known that Fox Valley Center has a new name. Reflecting its recent change of ownership to an Australian company, the mall now is called Westfield Shoppingtown Fox Valley.

The company also changed the names of the two other malls in northern Illinois it purchased.

Hawthorn Center in Vernon Hills has become Westfield Shoppingtown Hawthorn and Old Orchard Center in Skokie has become Westfield Shoppingtown Old Orchard.

On behalf of newspaper editors everywhere, let me be the first to complain that Westfield Shoppingtown Fox Valley is going to be one heck of a name to try to fit into a headline.
