Technician Shasta Burke, an 18-month employee of Bernina of America Inc., makes some minor adjustments on one of the firm's sewing machines. The firm's headquarters are in Aurora.
AURORA -- Bernina USA's slogan, "Nothing sews like a Bernina," doesn't seem like a braggart's claim at all when applied to its new artista 200 sewing machine.
The artista 200 is the first sewing machine to be powered by Microsoft Windows, the first to come with its own CD-ROM drive, the first to allow Internet access through a modem from the sewing machine itself and the first to be able to resize and rescale embroidery designs down to where each new stitch needs to go.
