Article: East, West Dundee near deal on sewage

WEST DUNDEE -- After more than a year of negotiations, West Dundee and East Dundee have come closer on an agreement to increase sewage treatment operations for both villages.

West Dundee's village board voted Monday night to approve an intergovernmental agreement to pursue construction of a larger treatment plant in East Dundee.

That village plans to vote on the same resolution in November, said Jamie Bowden, East Dundee's village administrator.

In return for West Dundee residents and businesses using East Dundee's wastewater treatment facility, the village of West Dundee would agree to pay for the plant's expansion -- at a cost of $4.8 million -- plus a $750,000 administrative ...
