Article: Prosecutors drop murder charges

JOLIET -- Will County prosecutors have dropped murder charges against a man accused of shooting his girlfriend to death in her house on the city's East Side last year. But they insisted that the case against 31-year-old Eric Glover is not dead and that they plan to refile murder charges against him in the future.

Glover, of 1011 Lois Place, was scheduled to stand trial last week in the killing of 30-year-old Velma Franklin at her Third Avenue home on June 17. But prosecutors abruptly dropped the charges Thursday before a hearing on whether the victim's and the defendant's 4-year-old daughter would be allowed to testify during the trial.
