CHICAGO -- His baggy, white-and-red uniform featured a different jersey number but, make no mistake, Dameon Mason felt right at home. He sensed the hospitality, too. Mason's pregame ovation rivaled the one given to LeBron James -- high school basketball's cover boy whom fans across America treat as if he wears a halo, not a headband.

A starter for the West squad in the EA Sports Roundball Classic played here Monday night at the United Center, West Aurora's Mason drew a loud round of applause once his name flashed on the scoreboard above center court.
