Dear Jim: We have a good central air cleaner, but I keep seeing ads saying I also need room air cleaners. Do I really need room air cleaners too? If I do, what types and sizes of room air cleaners are best?

Dear Angie: The indoor air quality in today's airtight, energy-efficient homes can actually be more polluted than outdoor air. Central air cleaners can be effective for removing some particles from the air. Using one keeps the furnace and air conditioner cleaner inside, which improves efficiency.
