The Will County Human Society's special-projects committee e-mailed me to let readers know it had a great response from the column I wrote April 1.
They have been in desperate need to replace the worn-out cat cages. At the time my story came out in April, they had already purchased nine cages and needed to raise money for a lot more. This week they will be ordering 24 new cages. It doesn't sound like such a hard thing until you realize how many cats they take in.
