Margaret O'Leary flaunts her lasso technique.
They may not know a cow chip from a potato chip, but the O'Leary family of Plainfield did themselves proud in the first City Slicker Showdown, held June 6 and 7 at the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort just north of Muskegon, Mich.
Margaret and Darren O'Leary, along with daughter Elizabeth, 5, and son Kevin, 4, squared off against five other Chicago-area families in a "Survivor"-style series of cowpoke proficiency challenges that included mechanical bull bustin', barrel racing, sheep riding (for the kids), stagecoach driving, roping, tug-of-war, a (golf) hole from Hades shoot-out and a tenderfoot talent show.
