Article: County leans to lake water to resolve radium problem

Switching well water users to lake water is emerging as the favored action to address elevated levels of radium in the water of about 520 Libertyville-area homes. Both the affected residents and some members of the Lake County Board have expressed a preference for switching the water source for houses in the Countryside Manor, Terre Faire and North Libertyville Estates subdivisions to lake water, according to Lake County Superintendent of Public Works Martin "Al" Galantha.
