Article: Some dietitians skeptical about the raw food diet

In the meat-eating Midwest, the raw diet -- eating only uncooked plant life -- is just starting to gain steam. In fact, until recently, Mary Carol MacDonald, manager of nutrition and diabetes services at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, had not heard of it. Dawn Jackson first learned about the raw food diet movement more than three years ago while she was living in a region known for its trendiness, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, N.M.
