Eric Morris had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the sixth for Merrillville as the Pirates pulled out the 3-2 Duneland Conference victory over Portage.
Paul Kurczynski, who was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored, led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple to bring up Morris. Jason Plys, who also tripled, picked up the save for Merrillville.
Jon Rush and Jesse Harrell scored the Indians (8-8, 3-5) runs while Milton Rivera and Adam Hasiak had the RBI. David Federoff had the complete game for Portage, striking out eight while walking two in the loss.
