Article: Lincoln Highway 90th anniversary celebrated today

In 1913, when hard road was laid for Lincoln Highway to become the first transcontinental highway, it changed American life. Area families that previously planned only next-town vacations could take the highway from Schererville to New York City -- or if they preferred the other coast, could motor to San Francisco in one straight line.
