Sidney Poitier has been a hero of my husband's for as long as I've known him. So you can imagine what it meant to him to actually see Poitier when he was in Chicago last month doing a benefit for St. Sabina.
I wondered what Poitier would do. Would he perform excerpts from some of films? Would he do a Q& A with the audience? Would he show clips from his movies with commentary? Would we actually get to meet this living legend? As we entered the auditorium that cold winter night, I still didn't have a clue just what "An Evening With Sidney Poitier" entailed.
