A contract could go out by mid-November for the first phase of the eagerly awaited upgrades at the intersections of Caton Farm Road with Illinois 59 and Drauden Road. Expansion of the roadway between the two well-traveled crossroads will follow soon.

Land and funding have been earmarked for the work, and the Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking bids for the work at Illinois 59.

Quotes are due Nov. 8 for installation of new turning lanes, concrete curbs and gutters and traffic signals. The work will also add storm sewers along a half-mile stretch of Caton Farm from Cryder Lane to Pebble Beach Drive.

Will County also plans to advertise for bids in November for widening ...
