Susan Sup of Lisle enjoys a sip of wine during a tasting at Wine Expressions in Lisle. Many area wine stores host events during which customers can sample different types of wine from various regions of the world.
As Jack Thew led a tasting of the wines of France, no one seemed surprised that one of the customers asked what champagne is.
"It's part of my job to help people feel comfortable and get it out to them that no question is out of bounds," said Thew, a partner at Wine Expressions in Lisle.
