Article: Your Turn: Should the Naperville Park District build a skateboard facility in Centennial Park? Why or why not?

With the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners scheduled to vote Thursday on a proposed skateboard area at Centennial Park, The Sun posed those questions to readers in Sunday's editions. The following are some of the edited responses we received. A skate park is needed and wanted now, and it should not be on the Riverwalk. We, therefore, propose the following.

Install a temporary skate park in the parking lot directly east of the Park District office on Jackson Street or in the parking lot north of the ball field west of Centennial Beach.

Open a permanent skate park in Knoch Park in 2004 to coincide with the opening of Commissioners Park.
