Article: Naperville City Council OKs plans for ninth fire station; North-side facility could open in late '05

A proposal to build Naperville's ninth fire station will enter the design phase this summer. The Naperville City Council on Monday gave engineers the go-ahead to begin designing the station. The facility is planned for Fifth and Ogden avenues on Naperville's north side, on the site of the city's Water Service Center. The new station could open in late 2005, said fire Chief John Wu, and better serve an area that has experienced a marked increase in emergency calls.
