If you think there are only two varieties of wine, named red and white, you are missing out on enjoying a world of flavors and aromas.
But learning about wine can be intimidating.
Understanding what "nose" has to do with a beverage and why some sparkling wine is called champagne while others don't deserve the title is only the first chapter in Wine 101.
"The best way to learn about wine is to start tasting and start asking questions," said Cathy McMillan, who helps befuddled customers at Naperville's Waterford Spirits and Fine Wine.
