ATLANTA -- Figure skating spectators in Atlanta literally stood up and took notice of Naperville's Evan Lysacek at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on Thursday night.
Lysacek, 18, brought the Phillips Arena crowd to its feet after an electrifying short program performance that ranked him third among 22 competitors.
"I felt like I was nervous going in," Lysacek said. "Just regular nerves and anxiety though because I wanted to do well."
In the end, however, Lysacek says he had "so much fun."
"It was great to have the audience really behind me," he said.
