Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States. It claims the lives of more females than males. In fact, more women die from heart disease than any other disease, including breast cancer. Even more staggering is the fact that many women are not aware of their risks for developing heart disease. In a survey conducted by the American Heart Association, less than 10 percent of women were aware of their chances for experiencing a heart attack or stroke.
