Vernon Hills Village Manager Larry Laschen hopes to start work soon on plans for a new $3 million village hall, either on the site of the current village hall or somewhere else.

The village could save $1.5 million by selling the present site at 290 Evergreen Drive and building a new village hall on a piece of property the village owns at Route 60 and Aspen Drive, known as the Clavey property.

However the village board could also decide to build a new village hall on the Clavey property and keep the village hall for other uses, or just add on to the present site.
