Yet another office building project may be on the way to Northbrook, as Commonwealth Edison has put up for sale 18 acres zoned for office construction next to its substation at 1000 Skokie Boulevard.
The possible sale may be the tip of the iceberg of coming ComEd property transactions. The subsidiary of Unicom, Inc., which this summer announced it was selling off coal-fired electricity-generating plants, also is unloading buildings and land: In addition to the 18-acre Northbrook site, La Salle Partners land sales arm is also handling sales of nine smaller ComEd parcels in Boone, Cook, DuPage, Lake, Ogle and Whiteside counties, ranging from a 5.8-acre site in the Mallard Lake Business Park in ...
