Article: Village closer to ZIP code of its own

When Lincolnwood Village Trustees this spring approved a new U.S. Post Office annex for the village, they hoped that the facility would help the village get its own zip code.

That now appears to be the case, Mayor Madeleine Grant said this week. Because of the facility, the village could get its own zip code as early as next year, she said.

"I think what's making the difference in moving us up on the list is the Lincoln Avenue annex," Grant said. "We now have a facility that can handle one ZIP code when we get it."
