Article: Lake water to start flowing Tuesday in Plainfield

Lake Michigan water will be flowing out of Plainfield pipes by the end of April. Starting Tuesday, about 25 percent of the village's water will be lake water. The amount of lake water in the supply will gradually increase until it reaches 100 percent, most likely by April 27, said Allen Persons, director of public works. "(Customers) will notice a difference in the quality of the water. The water will be a lot softer," Persons said. "Generally, people like the taste of the lake water better than the well water."
