[] Board revises vehicle-use policy
The issue: The DuPage County Vehicle Use Policy now requires all county vehicles to be kept in service for 12 years and 150,000 miles -- up from 10 years and 100,000 miles -- except for special-purpose vehicles. Preventive maintenance schedules must be followed; no county employee or elected official may use a county vehicle without personal liability insurance; and personal use of county vehicles is prohibited other than commuting to and from work.
What it means: The county last updated its vehicle policy 15 years ago. Government Efficiency Committee Chairman William Maio, R-Itasca, said the county will now save $250,000 every two years ...
